Admission times: 10am – 5pm

Camping Information

Due to the continued success of the show we cannot offer camping of any kind to the public/visitors. Overnight stays are restricted to exhibitors and show staff only.

Hundreds of exhibits, digger play pen, artisan market, live music and dancing into the night, beer tent, arena entertainment, trophy presentation and the stunning steam engines..  

For the children?

Donkey rides, funfair, Punch and Judy shows, digger play pen, military vehicles, 200x tractors, magnificent steam engines, ice cream and sweet stalls, art competition, Dog agility, Dangerous Steve stunt man, live arena entertainment & demonstrations.

Food and drink?

We have catering stalls around the showground and we try to be selective about the range of food and drink available. We like to include a few new specialisms each year to sit along side the tried and tested old favourites.

General information & weather??

We are committed to making everyone’s experience an enjoyable one and provide the following for our disabled visitors to assist with ease of access throughout the site. Please do consider that the steam fair is an outdoor event with grass fields and grounds with gradients/uneven surfaces, whilst we have made great efforts to provide facilities to accommodate for this there will inevitably be some areas that are hard to navigate. We advises bringing provisions from wellies to sun cream, blankets to waterproofs, for sun, wind, rain and cold weather.

Getting to & from the village?

There is a shuttle bus that runs between the village and show field between 10am and 5pm.

How to stay safe on the field?

Please be aware that there may be many potential trip hazards on the show field, due to cables  or guide ropes. There are also many vehicles and machines with moving parts around the site with associated dangers. You and your children should take extra care at all times.

Is there ample free parking?

Car parking is available to all steam fair ticket holders. Spaces will be allocated by stewards upon arrival; there is no needed to book. Vehicles are left at owner’s risk. Disabled parking is available. See details below

Fair photography & filming?

We will be taking photographs and filming this event. By entering you consent to your image being used in any future promotional material. If you do not wish your image to be used please go to the secretary’s box or speak to the photographer / camera team at the time.

Are there disabled facilities?

Disabled toilets are located next to the main arena. These facilities are provided for our disabled visitors only. Disabled parking is available, please follow directions to main car park, a steward will direct you to a designated disabled parking area. Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis and can’t be pre booked. Blue Badge permits required.

Movement on the show field?

A speed limit of 5mph will apply on the showground. For public safety no vehicle movement on the field is permitted between 10am & 4.30pm unless escorted by a show steward. Late arrivals after 10am will be held in a designated area awaiting the arrival of the appropriate steward.

Can I bring my bicycle?

There are no specific cycle-parking facilities on the site although there will be fencing in the car park to which you may secure your bike. We are unable to take responsibility for cycles secured in this way. Please note: bicycles are not permitted inside the steam fair ground.

Is there a smoking policy?

Smoking is not allowed in any of the marquees or structures. Visitors who wish to smoke are asked to respect others by restraining from smoking in busy areas, around children and eating areas.

Nearest cash machine?

Chipping Steam Fair now accepts card payments but the nearest bank cash point is in Longridge approx. 5 miles west of Chipping.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Chipping Steam Fair welcomes dogs but we expect owners to clean up after their pets just as they would anywhere. Dogs must not be left in vehicles or caravans at any time.

Are there medical facilities?

Anyone with a medical problem should go to the First Aid Point located near to the secretary’s box. In an emergency you should contact a steward who can reach first aid by radio.

Where to find lost property?

Any enquiries regarding lost property should be made at the secretary’s box.

Small children and pushchairs?

Please keep you eye on your children as vehicles move around the show field. This is an outdoor event in fields & on ground with uneven surfaces, whilst we have made great efforts to provide facilities to accommodate pushchairs it is inevitable that some areas will be hard to navigate.

Volunteering at the fair?

Volunteering is a great opportunity to work with the Chipping Steam Fair team and understand how the event operates. It’s also a great way to enjoy the steam fair and work alongside friends and family. If you would like to volunteer please contact us.

How to exhibit or trade at fair?

If you would like to exhibit or bring your business to Chipping Steam Fair please download the appropriate entry form from the “Forms” page of this website. Instructions of what to do are on the printable paperwork along with our “Trade and Exhibitors Terms and Conditions”.

Our Steam Fair Policy

Please do NOT bring any of the following onto any part of Chipping Steam Fair site, including car parks and campsites – open fires, disposable BBQ’s, Chinese lanterns or illegal substances of any kind. Only alcohol purchased from the bar maybe consumed within the marquees. Strictly no drone flying or other forms of flying are permitted on or around the site. We reserve the right to refuse admission or to evict any person from the Steam Fair for drunkenness, unruly behaviour or for breaking any of these conditions. No under 18’s will be admitted without a responsible adult.
